小吹氏のブログ（http://www.keyis.jp/weblog/）にも記述されていた八ッセルブラッドの特質にも触れるべきなのだろうが、一つ特筆すべきは、彼のまなざしにある。
日本各地を回った時に３０~６０分もかけて撮った写真は、開きっぱなしのレンズに写りこむ飛沫の軌跡が霧となりて、水面を異質の境界と化している。
その異質さ、はては、モノクロに変換された水の色、そして被写体となった“水で無いものたち”を勘案した上で、彼は十数枚の写真を“地獄から天国へ”という隠されたテーマの下に構成していると言うのである。
さてはて、彼が目にし続けたもの、それは是非に会場で見て話をしていただければといったところである。それは神曲のオマージュようであり、古事記のオマージュのようにも感ぜられるのだから。ぱっと見は個々の写真ばかりに惹かれてしまうのだけども。
