On March 3rd, 2008, the textile version of the Tale of the Genji was completed. The artists, Itaro Yamaguchi initiated the project in 1970 to leave a work of art for the later generations. For 37 years, he dedicated both night and day to the project.
On June 27th, 2007 he passed away after completing the project. He was 105.
