This event has ended.

The exhibition features photographic works by Itaru Hirama, a portrait photographer focusing on that of musicians and celebrities. In 2006, he took portraits of Butoh artist Min Tanaka. This exhibition will feature one color photograph and 35 monochrome photographs, along with a documentary movie of the performer.
As a student, Hirama was deeply affected by Tanaka's performance. After a twenty-year lapse, Hirama had the opportunity to work with Tanaka for a movie, Maison de Himiko. At that time, Tanaka was exploring the concept of performing on settings that were not staged - thus, exploring what it means to "dance for a specific location."
Through this photography shoot, Hirama claims that he was urged to face himself and his identity.
