This event has ended.

As one of the oldest shrines in Japan dating back to the Kofun period and believed to be where refined sake originated, Omiwa (or Miwa) Shrine in Nara draws a large number of visitors from around the country. This exhibition follows the history and development of Japan’s sake culture from the Yayoi to Edo periods with a focus on artefacts found in excavations of Japan’s earliest sake breweries in Nara.
