“Days Japan” is a photojournalism monthly dedicated to reporting on realities around the world not covered by the mass media. It was founded in 2004 by a group including the photo journalist and video journalist Ryuichi Hirokawa. “Living on Earth 2013” presents 60 grand prize-winning works from the 9th Days International Photo Journalism Awards. Depicting the intensifying civil war in Syria and conflicts, refugees, famines, and poverty around the world, as well as the Great East Japan Earthquake and Japan’s nuclear power issues, these photographs make viewers question their relationship to the world.
