Photographer Sayuri Tajima documents the Nikkei — a term referring to the descendants of Japanese who emigrated from Japan — communities in Argentina: a country which has the fifth largest population of Nikkei in the world. Tajima’s monochrome photography explores issues of identity and hardships from the point of view of first generation settlers as well as their second and third generation descendants.
