“The Collection - The Rise and Fall of Gutai”

1954 saw the establishment of the Gutai group, led by Jiro Yoshihara, with the motto to create a form of art never witnessed before. Over a period of 18 years the group presented numerous exhibitions, welcomed new members and event joined the Osaka Expo in 1970. This exhibition places a spotlight upon the closing curtain of this group, which broke up shortly after the death of Yoshihara, and follows the careers of its original members through an array of their work.
