An exhibition on the theme of asobi, meaning play or amusement, as illustrated through works in the collection of Kyoto National Museum. Aspects of asobi addressed in this exhibition include music and dance, offerings to deities, banquets, moon and flower viewings, boat rides, igo and sugoroku board games, poetry matches, shell-matching and incense-smelling games. A great opportunity to learn more about some of Japanese oldest traditions and festivals.

Free Saturday lectures and other talk events are being held throughout July. Please refer to the website for details.
