This exhibition commemorates the publication of Takashi Minagawa’s photobook, “The Gunkanjima Island Back Then — I can still hear their voices” documenting daily life in his home (Hashima Island, nicknamed Battleship Island) while it was one of the most densely populated places on earth, during the 1950’s. Today the island lies abandoned.
