This event has ended.

Painter Domoto Insho worked in a number of styles, at first creating figurative images based on classical Oriental themes but incorporating Western forms of visual expression, then moving into abstract painting after the War. His favoured medium, however, was the traditional Japanese medium of sumi ink. This exhibition demonstrates how Domoto adapted sumi to different painting genres, from delicate landscapes to dramatic abstract works. Also featured are his fusuma sliding door paintings from the Koshibo at Toji Temple.
