Bansho Hashimura (b. 1959) has made himself the master of many crafts learning the art of wood boxes from his grandfather, trying his hand at ceramics, as well as studying nihonga under Kohun Yamamoto. He has continued to bring innovation to historic traditions of Japanese craft and to bring out the essential beauty of the natural materials he uses. In this exhibition he presents a collection of 60 handcrafted works ranging from helmets to tools of the tea ceremony.
