Eri Hanada’s works can be described in many ways as “site-specific”— the practice of emphasizing the space where an artwork is placed. However, to Hanada, focusing on a site does not mean using it as a “package” for presenting appeal of a work in a new way. Rather, her approach aims to shed light on hidden histories and truths concealed through such practices, creating new kinds of relationships through the artist and the artwork.
