Nabeshimadantsu Yoshijimake was founded in the first year of the Taisho period in Akamatsucho, Saga city, after which its operations were moved to Kurume city, Fukuoka and continued to march on with the lantern of tradition. Nabeshimadantsu is a form of carpet weaving patronized by the powerful Nabeshima family and is of great historic and cultural importance. This exhibition attempts to connect the traditional crafts of the Edo period to the lifestyles of our contemporary times and point towards another future.
