This event has ended.

Mari Amita mainly does photography for famous musical groups including The Michelle Gun Elephant, Perfume, and Rip Slyme. Her photographs, which have been featured in CD cover art, photo collections, and magazines, have won over both artists and fans. Her interest in photography began 14 years ago with pictures she took of lilies in her neighborhood. She later began a series of polaroids, and capturing flowers on film has become her life’s work. This exhibition presents a series of flower photos taken in recent years. Amita does not arrange the flowers or use lighting techniques at the locations where they bloom. Instead, she artistically channels their presence by engaging with what she calls “sublime moments of movement in light, air, and water droplets.” Silver gelatin prints from a series taken on both negative and positive film are on display and for sale, along with albums of her photos and scarves, iPhone cases, and other items featuring her work.
