Mikiya Nishimura has been photographing the nature, landscapes, and lifestyles of Mongolia for more than 20 years. Twenty-seven of his photographs from a series portraying the lives of “people who live with reindeer” in the taiga region are on display. While images of this dazzlingly beautiful and other-worldy place have the power to move, survival here requires a spirit strong enough to overcome harsh realities. Endurance lies at the heart of the reindeer people’s lives. These photographs are an opportunity to reconsider the sources of happiness and life born from endurance.
