Artist’s Statement: Until now, my works have been infused with various shade of blue reflecting the warmth left over from the fragility and despair of human existence. While remembering such things are still important, we the living must look to the future, cherishing each and every moment. After seeing the great devastation that remains in the Tohoku region this March, I spent April and May abruptly taking leave of my sorrows. Now, these thoughts are more pertinent to me than ever.
