Koji Onaka “Twin Boat”
Visual Arts Gallery
This event has ended.
These photos, taken in a small Japanese town while Onaka was still in his 20s or 30s, were perceived to be a story of first love by his editor in New York. Onaka found this interpretation slightly puzzling but immediately accepted it with gladness. Onaka hopes viewers will see the works of this collection as slightly removed from photograph’s fated constraints of time and space, inviting many new interpretations that take on new lives separate from his own ideas. (From the afterward of “Twin Boat”).
