This event has ended.

Radium Girls is a spectral reminiscence of the “radium girls” incident of the 1920s, in which young American female workers were fatally contaminated by radioactivity due to the negligence of the factory hiring them.
UV lights, diodes, and glow-in-the-dark snow are combined with close-ups of plastic artifacts of our globalized culture to create an eerie mood in which bright colours and advertising aesthetics are diverted into an uncanny atmosphere. Claude Estèbe is a French photographer and researcher in Japanese visual studies with a background in computer science engineering. He is a former resident of the art program Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto. This exhibition is part of KG+, a series of events related to Kyotographie.
