Nao Nakai “Before Dawn”
Osaka Nikon Salon
This event has ended.
“Even if I live, I will become something without meaning.” Photographer Nao Nakai’s grandmother, who suffered from Alzheimer’s and was losing her memory, wrote this in her diary. Nakai was inspired by her grandmother and the time they shared to take these pictures. She remarks “My grandmother struggled with what she could not escape, but still believed in the future. Wandering between darkness and light, she wanted to turn toward the light with whatever little time she had. I put these feelings into my photographs.”
