Artist’s statement: I was alone in the darkroom, staring at photo paper submerged in developing solution. Each piece floating lightly to the surface was a shifting scene. I knew I was there, yet I felt far away, as if I had drifted someplace else. I knew this wonderful feeling could not last but wanted to preserve it anyway, if only for a moment longer.
