Itami City Museum of Art presents an exhibition showcasing select works from its collection over two distinct themes, “Backlit” and “Caricatures. Be Afraid?! Children”.
In “Backlit”, 40 pieces by painters and sculptors working with back-lighting are shown, including masterpieces by James Ensor and Louis Le Brocquy. The “Caricatures. Be Afraid?! Children” exhibition introduces 50 pieces by well-known satirists of the 19th Century: French lithographer and painter Paul Gavarni, and French printmaker, caricaturist, painter, and sculptor Honoré-Victorin Daumier.
