In his work, Teppei Kaneuji boldly explores to seek a node between performing arts and “Rimpa”, one of the major historical schools of Japanese painting, exhibiting new work from his Model of Unknown Stage series at Kyoto Art Center’s North Gallery and hosting four different events with other artists, musicians and actors at the South Gallery. “A place where things and people that were not supposed to encounter each other do encounter each other as they are”, says Kaneuji. An unexpected encounter may take us to the world of the unknown and liberate us.
