Kazuhiko Yamaguchi “The Faces of Muroran— People of Wind, People of Earth”
Canon Gallery Umeda
This event has ended.
Kazuhiko Yamaguchi has made photographing Muroran, Hokkaido, his life’s work. In 2013 he rented an apartment in the city, and while traveling back and forth between there and Tokyo, photographed 100 of Muroran’s workers, including Buddhist priests, school staff, ramen shop employees, taxi drivers, artisans, festival workers, hospital employees, bus drivers, bath-house staff, and others. These 100 black and white works reveal the beauty of Muroran through its working population.
