The first joint exhibition by the Irie Taikichi Memorial Museum of Photography Nara City and the Nara City Museum of Calligraphy in Honour of Kason Sugioka. Displayed are the works of both Irie (1905-1992), a landscape photographer of Nara Prefecture’s “Yamatoji” historical sites who captured the spirit and beauty of Japan, and Sugioka (1913-2012), the preeminent kana calligrapher known for his scrawling style that emphasized the beauty of margins.
