While silver gelatin and digital versions of black-and-white photography are often compared, the world of photography seems to be moving rapidly towards digital, with little that can be done to stop it. Advances in digital cameras have led to high-resolution images and other new expressions not possible with earlier techniques. Still, silver gelatin prints have an undeniable beauty and technical worth as system of photography, and it is impossible to imagine they could disappear. This exhibition showcases the greatness of both kinds of black and white photography.
