This event has ended.

The French curator Christine Cibert lived in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea from April 2006 through December 2008 during her husband’s assignment there with the UN. In this selection of images dedicated to the North Korean women and girls she encountered, Cibert tries to show their everyday lives in the hermit state, whether in Pyongyang or provincial regions. Cultural differences, the linguistic barrier, and a fear of contact with foreigners made photographing them a delicate task. This exhibition is part of KG+, a series of events related to Kyotographie.
