Presenting the outcomes of the 10 day artist in residence program of Asuka Art Village in which 5 artists gathered in collaborative production while in dialogue with the people and environment of the local area. In this process they identified the two key elements to life in Asuka, with an ancient attachment to the “earth”, the land and all its history and the “air”, the sky with its sun, stars, moon and clouds which have looked over the people of Asuka since long ago and raised imagination towards new cultural encounters. These two poles of Asuka identity are here manifested in the works of these 5 artists.
