Armel Barraud Solo Exhibition
Artist’s statement: As a woman weaver of lace, I strive to give contemporary forms to disappearing heritages through collections of exquisitely woven bobbin lace passed down by female ancestors. Extending from wall to wall, my tapestries present worlds existing between legend and imagination. Swaying in the air, their metallic lace transforms into shadow theaters when light vanishes. These works of Venetian lace are inspired by “The Lady and the Unicorn” and pastoral scenes featuring rabbits and foxes.
