This biannual exhibition presents works that embody Kyoto University of Art & Design’s objective of “cultivating human talent that contributes to society through art education that enriches the spirit.” Under the direction of contemporary artist Hiroshi Sugimoto, this show presents new sculptures by Kyoto artisans in a space meant to be viewed as a work of art in its entirety. Two of the sculptures have been displayed in the group exhibition “Mingei: Are You Here?” held at Pace Gallery New York from March 7th through April 5th.
