In recent years Yosuke Yamauchi has focused his interest upon the phenomenon of the “town”, influenced by his encounter with community development projects in New York and Minneapolis and the redevelopment of his own town Shinnagata in the wake of the 3.11 disaster. In this exhibition entitled New Open Area he attempts to build up a dialogue with the town. Also showing at the same time at space eauuu is an associated exhibition of Tomoyo Kawase.
