Takehiro Satow’s thought-provoking, textural works come to Art Space Zero-One. Apparatus-like works are assembled from various types of wood (such as driftwood and processed wood).
Accommodating two of the gallery spaces, one room is allocated “a place for the artwork” and the other “a place to look at the artwork”. The artworks can be appreciated by going back and forth between the two rooms. A distinctive feature of the gallery, an open window in the wall that partitions the rooms allows a restricted view from one into the other. This restriction draws attention to “what is visible,” and lets the viewer focus on the here and now.
