Villa Kamogawa artist-in-residence Anne Kathrin Greiner is participating in “KG+,” an event associated with the Kyotographie International Photography Festival. This exhibition focuses on photographs taken by Greiner during her stay as an artist-in-residence in northern Thailand in 2012. As with her previous works, these photographs present her travel destination from her own personal perspective, which differs completely from Thailand’s touristic images of white-sand beaches. Greiner’s 2010 film “Keimkasten 3” will also be shown in Japan for the first time. It tells the story of one man’s doomed attempt to escape from a place alien to post-industrialized society.
