This event has ended.

Galerie Ashiya Schule is pleased to present Snow Blossoms, an exhibition of mainly new pieces by Seiko Wakasugi. These works were received favorably last autumn in Paris at the ceramics arts salon Ceramique 14 and Mercier & Associes Gallery. Wakasugi creates her works in a nature-surrounded atelier in Sanda, Hyogo Prefecture, which was formerly used by the late Takako Araki, an artist well known for her ceramic objects.

Wakasugi has been represented by galleries in Japan since 2004. Her ceramics, which include molded white porcelain cups and plates made on a potter’s wheel, have the feel of Japanese paper made from mulberry and are constructed with fine details and elaborate design. This is her second solo exhibition at Galerie Ashiya Schule.
