With a practice centering upon large scale installations Tanizawa continues to work across a wide variety of materials, giving stress to the importance of fantasy and imagination, a pursuit further strengthened by the experiences of 3.11. Here she calls upon the spirit of fantasy to possess the materials of clay, shells, wool and ritual washi paper, creating something to give rise to that “gut feeling”, moving us through the narrative power of material, light and space. Here her unique work weaves into the spaces of Shinrin Shokudo, host to numerous food and art events, creating a forest of imagination.
