The collection at The Museum of Modern Art, Shiga is broadly categorised into 3 areas: Modern Japanese style painting (especially the works related to the “Nihon Bijutsu-in” Japan Art Academy), works related to the Shiga prefecture, and postwar contemporary art (especially from U.S.A. and Japan.) This exhibition places the spotlight on particular artists whose work within the collection can be counted by the dozen.
