Akiko Horio, a member of the Gutai movement since the late twenties, engages many materials such as wood, steel frame, wire, acrylic, and mirrors. There materials go through processes of deformation, construction and dismantling, before they are arranged as a final piece. After the removal of the original textures, we are left with a simple form of subtle colors and lines.
