“When the day and the night are reversed, or merge into each other, our imaginations can make astonishing leaps.”
As in the words of Novalis, the darkness of night has attracted countless poets and storytellers, and we can also easily find images in the visual arts comparable to daydreams. This exhibition focuses on two concepts: visions and mirages, showing peculiar images such as those dreamed during the day. It examines the mysterious power of reversed day-night situations through works from the museum collection.
