Stavros is the Greek word for cross. Hirohito Nakanishi, who photographs Mount Athos, the holiest site of the Greek Orthodox Church and the Aegean Sea, presents pictures from a self-governing abbey in Greece, for which he acquired special permission to enter and photograph.
