This event has ended.

An exhibition of tea bowls and photography by 18 artists drawing attention around the world. The tea ceremony, long a transforming part of Japanese culture and history, contains a range of aesthetic principles that carry over into the contemporary art of today. Photography, meanwhile, has evolved from a purely documentational media to one taking on painterly ideas and approaches in recent years as its potential and international market expands. In a space imaged as a setting for the deeply artistic world of tea, this show brings together these two art forms with different histories and backgrounds while affirming the possibilities of both with new values that go beyond mere appearances.
