Artist Hikari Okawara continues to seek out the relationship between people and environments through photography. In her “Monuments” series on urban cemeteries, she captures skyscrapers and graves in single frames, depicting the concurrent yet different passages of time of these places. This exhibition combines “Monuments” with a new series examining the relationship between ruins and contemporary society with shots of exhumed ruin sites.
