Through embroidery, sculpture, and animation, Zon Ito weaves together fragments of daily life, creating works in which the city’s many underlying layers come to the surface. Yuta Nakamura reexamines the tiles used in modern architecture, tracing the cultural contexts of their times and creating interpretive works from the perspectives of contemporary artists. This approach quietly shakes our perceptions of the places with which we believe ourselves familiar, inviting us into “unknown cities.”
