The 13th Art Osaka art fair will be held July 4th (Sat) and 5th (Sun) on the 26th floor of Hotel Granvia Osaka (directly attached to Osaka Station). Art Osaka is one of Japan’s longest-running fairs specializing in contemporary art. Appealing to contemporary art novices and seasoned collectors alike, it lets visitors directly purchase unique, high-quality works recommended by gallerists in guest rooms closely replicating at-home living spaces. Special programs include “Waking Up to Art Vol. 3,” Kyoto City University of the Arts’ exhibition of work by fresh and talented young creators, the Japan Art Photography Association’s Kansai-focused “Power of Photography” show, and “Counter-Attack! Abstract Painting,” which showcases abstract painters at work in Japan today. From the next generation of young artists to experienced mid-career creators and little-known masters, Art Osaka brings together a wide range of talent.
