“When we travel, a sense of distance from the things we’re used to seeing in our daily lives emerges, and I enjoy watching this take shape,” says photographer Haruki, who believes that taking a photograph is simultaneously making a record of the things before your eyes and embedding them in memory, through the filter of the deep recesses of your soul. These images evoking memories as they recede far into the distance may be called fragments of recollection.
