Guri and Gura 50th Anniversary Exhibition

The “Guri and Gura” picture book series telling the story of two twin mice came out 50 years ago. Offering a look back on the beloved children’s series, this exhibition presents rare original illustrations from all seven books, as well as original drawings for “Iyaiya-en” (No! No! Nursery School), the first work by Rieko Nakagawa and Yuriko Yamawaki, the sisters who wrote and illustrated “Guri and Gura.” There will also be a screening of a filmed dialogue between director Hayao Miyazaki and Rieko Nakagawa, displays of editions of “Guri and Gura” published in 11 countries, and a reading corner.
