Seiko Yamamoto was born in a “new town” residential development complex, and her sculptures and installations stem from and hold onto memories of physical unease and doubt resulting from urban spaces with cookie-cutter designs. “Swimming in Colors” positions her projects from recent years within her ongoing body of work, presenting a new video installation titled “The Colors Within You,” the previous videos “Darkness” and “High-Color Darkness,” the never-before exhibited video “Empty Colors,” and the sculpture “A Part of My Body Has Never Been to My Birth Country.”
