Ryo Kusumoto “Bow”
Be-Kyoto
This event has ended.
Kusumoto has been interested in the dignity and fear behind physical presence. In Japan, animism toward trees has existed since before the 8th century. His work is an attempt to visualize the feeling of “awe” when facing ancient woods that have a lifespan unimaginable to us humans, and have been witness to the world for centuries. He will show his work in a Kyoto machiya that was built more than 200 years ago.
* This exhibition is part of KG+, Kyotographie’s satellite event.
