Museum “Eki” Kyoto
This event has ended.
This exhibition is of the photographs taken by Ihei Kimura during his two highly productive trip to Paris in 1954. In addition to monochrome film he also employed color, which at the time was rare outside of commercial photography, demonstrating his attempts to practice a new photographic expressiveness. Further, at the time for most people traveling overseas was extremely difficult due to restrictions on carrying foreign currency. This exhibition will display around 130 color prints that convey the charm of 1950s Paris.
