This event has ended.

Yuriko Yamamoto is the recipient of the 2002 Philip Morris K.K. Art Young Artist Award and has exhibited work at the P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center in New York.

The Kyoto-based artist positions the viewer as the main character in her all-encompassing works, creating psychological and conceptual encounters that envelop the viewer in the experience through text, sound, lighting, stage props, and sometimes even actors to construct narrative spaces and devices.

Light and time have been themes in her work in recent years, and for this exhibition she has orchestrated situations allowing viewers (participants) to confront the parameters of their perception through the physical senses with “flash drawings” heightening awareness of color and form.
