Chofukuji, a temple in Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture built during the Kamakura period (1185–1333), underwent an archeological survey by the Archaeological Institute of Kashihara as part of conservational renovations begun in 2012. This exhibition introduces the beauty of Chofukuji through the findings of the survey and what it revealed about the temple’s architectural history, art history, and archeology.
