The Second World War ended in 1945 with enormous devastation across Japan and the rest of the world. A drastic agricultural land reform was implemented in order to promote the growth of Japanese agriculture, resulting in a significant increase in households that made a living from farming. This exhibition provides fascinating information on Kyoto’s agricultural land use reform in the postwar period.
